The Hong Kong Consumer Council was frightened and immediately changed its statement, saying that the 30 tested products can be safely consumed.
Nongfu Spring believes that its red bottle products are clearly labeled as "drinking natural water" and should not be judged by the "mineral water" production standards,
but by the bromate standards set by the World Health Organization. According to this standard, the red bottle water of Nongfu Spring is far below the safety standards and can even be called high quality.
In fact, the reason why Nongfu Spring is so tough is also because it is just about to stand out and start a grand price and public opinion war. As the industry leader, it has initiated a "price war",
which has made Yibao and Wahaha start to worry!
In CR Vanguard supermarkets, the price of Nongfu Spring drinking purified water has been reduced to 9.9 yuan per pack.
Other manufacturers are also following suit, with 12 bottles of Yibao bulk purified water priced at 12.8 yuan per pack, approximately 1 yuan per bottle; 12 bottles of Wahaha purified water priced at 13.5 yuan per pack,
with a unit price also around 1 yuan.
Wahaha has started to restructure offline channels and actively place refrigerators in terminal stores. In the first half of this year, many areas that were previously difficult to see Wahaha purified water have also started to sell.
In fact, Nongfu Spring in the Hong Kong stock market has been declining since the beginning of May, falling for two months, with a drop of 30%. As of the close on July 17,
the total market value of Nongfu Spring is 373.4 billion Hong Kong dollars, with a total market value of nearly 170 billion Hong Kong dollars evaporated in two months!
